Whoever sacrifice their lives for sake of country is brave and courage and nationalist. Of course Pawo Thupten Ngodup is greatest nationalist in exile Tibetan community. I hope more like him will come in our society. There are some who criticise his activity of self-immolation. They are doing this only because of hatred and jealous of his popularity. For example there are some in Kashag who dislike his activity.

HUGH
But our leaders are different. Our leader did nothing but taking all the credits for fighting for free Tibet.

We need to elect a leader, not a religious one nor aristocrat, but a leader who take action. Tibet is the victim of those religious leaders.

Tsering,

You are right with respects to average people, civilians, doing the work, or sacrificing themselves. What are the leaders doing? Saving their own precious butts behind an aura of religiosity and diplomacy. (My personal inflammatory opinion, I admit.)

But a people's movement belongs to its people, and not to the leaders. The leaders and guides belong to the people as well. Perhaps leaders should remember this basic fact of life and align themselves to the truth more effectively.

see again, Somebody is taking my OPINION personal. Again, an opinion is just an opinion. You guys just remind me of Chinese. They have the same attitude toward Tibetans and Tibet issue. "Chinese said "Tibet is part of CHina period. It is a fact" No other voice,"

LHAKTSE, you still believe in those fairy tales right? No wonder , you quoted from it. Please upgrade yourself from Elementary school.

Just ignore this kiddish remark of Tsering or Dawa whatever he is called. We all know who is Pawo Thupten Ngodup la and his sacrifice for the country. As saying goes "the saliva of dirty frog won't dirt the beautiful swan" so just ignore!

One more thing to add. GOLOK. You can say "I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH YOUR COMMENTS AGAIN" but don't say "HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZED ME AGAIN" I hope you will see the difference.

GOLOK, you wrote a lot, but still there is no point. I can see from your message, you were taking my opinion personally. All , i can see is your emotional respond.

First of all, i didn't "criticize" him. (Again, this is a strong word)I was trying to explain in what condition he killed himself.

Secondly, i didnt feel under attack. I was just telling you don't use those strong word"Dare, Criticize, acccuse...etc

Thirdly, there is no such thing as "FACT". I mean viewing through differnt angle, you get differnt facts.

I can see you are very educated person, but you are lack of critical thinking. For you, in this world, there is only one truth right??? I mean for you it is either Black or White.

Tsering,

Parts of your comment may be an opinion, but your remark on Thupten Ngodup's reasons for self-immolation, presented as a fact, is tantamount to defamation, or more accurately to libel. (Note that in some US statutes truth alone is not a defense when a defamatory statement is "tending to blacken the memory of one who is dead, with intent to provoke the living".)

As for your reply, I'm surprised you felt under attack... I fully support difference of opinions and I'm convinced that the destruction of the Shangri-La myth is essential for the future of Tibet. I'm not the type to accuse those who don't agree with the official line to be "Chinese spies", nor I'm known for "scaring away lots of Tibetan intellectuals" — which I hope you don't have the pretension to be part of.

Regarding your doubts on my role as police, you are knocking at the wrong door. My comment was done on a personal basis, not as the webmaster of this blog. If I would have really played the police — this time as webmaster —, I would have since long marked your comments as spam. You are posting messages under an invalid e-mail address and providing a website that is not yours. What is more, many users on this blog use the same e-mail and website details as you provided, and posting from the same IP as yours. Any serious monitoring would have found that suspicious and would have required an e-mail confirmation before accepting these posts.

Enjoy this blog, comment or criticize its content, but please refrain from doing dirt on people's memory — especially when these persons have never done anything bad to anyone. It's disgraceful and it doesn't help our struggle.

There was a typo in my message. What I meant was "If you don't agree on my opinion, you can just simply said "I DON't agree with you". Sorry

GOLOK, stop Taking it personal and being emotional.("dare")a very strong word. It was my opinion and I got some information about him from other sources. If you don't agree on my opinion, you can't just simply said: "I DON'T AGREE"

Your response was almost like "LETS FIght, you Chinese spy"
Please do not scare away lots of Tibetan intellectual who have different voice.

Are you playing the police role here? Or you just posting your message from Dharamsala?

Remember one thing "All the information in this forum are purely opinion" People can say whatever they believe" and that is called opinion.
